How this site makes money, and what that does not buy

Affiliate links

Some links on Deskload are affiliate links. If you buy something through one of them, this site may earn a commission. The price you pay is exactly the same either way — the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.

Affiliate relationships currently include or may include Amazon Associates and programmes run through ShareASale and Impact. Where a link is an affiliate link it is disclosed on the page it appears on, as well as here.

What commission does not buy

No company pays for a recommendation here, and no company sees an article before it is published. What gets recommended is decided on the mechanics and the evidence first; whether an affiliate programme exists is checked afterwards, and often there isn't one.

Products with affiliate programmes get criticised on this site when they deserve it, and products with no affiliate programme at all get recommended when they are the right answer. If those two things ever stop being true, this page is wrong and you should stop trusting the site.

Paid services

Deskload sells a written desk assessment. That is a service I provide personally and it is priced on this site. It has no relationship to any manufacturer or retailer, and an assessment will never be used to steer you toward a product for commission — where the honest answer is that your current setup is fine, that is the answer you get.

Medical disclaimer

Deskload publishes biomechanical explanation and interpretation of published research. It is not medical advice. Nothing on this site diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any condition, and reading it does not create a clinician–patient relationship of any kind.

I hold a PhD in biomechanics. I am not a physician, physiotherapist, chiropractor or any other licensed clinical practitioner, and I do not practise as one.

If you have pain that is severe, persistent, worsening, or accompanied by numbness, weakness, tingling, or loss of function, seek assessment from a qualified clinician. Do not delay medical attention because of something you read here.

Corrections

If a figure or a claim on this site is wrong, email hello@thedeskload.com. Corrections are made on the page itself and noted rather than silently edited.
